About the artist
Gail McKenzie is an Australian artist originally from rural New Zealand. Gail specialised in land and seascapes using oil paints on board and canvas. She draws inspiration from her love and connection to the land & environment. Her ongoing commitment to the environment and natural habitats are showcased in her paintings.

In 2018 Gail was accepted into the Mosman Art Prize, in 2019 was a Hunter Hill Art Prize Finalist, and in 2021 an Artists of Mosman 2088 Prize Finalist.
Gail's sense of adventure & love of travel means she is rarely without her pochade box and oil paints, to capture art wherever inspiration hits. Her recent travel works from the South Coast of NSW are done either en plein air, and studio finished.
Gail loves to spend her time with her family, enjoying the simple moments in life.
